First Baptist McGregor
Baptist Faith & Message
Click the image above for an unabridged copy of the Baptist Faith and Message adopted in 1963. These are the basic beliefs of baptists and First Baptist Church.

Bro. Greg Traylor came to be pastor at FBC McGregor in June of 2025 along with his wife Nancy who is a retired teacher.  Bro. Greg has served in ministry over 35 years including pastoring at FBC Beeville, FBC Big Sandy, and doing student ministry at Grace Temple Baptist in Waco.  Nancy has taught Bible studies and spoken at multiple women's events.  Bro. Greg graduated from Baylor in 1990 and Southwestern Seminary in 1994.  They have 3 adult children who are all married and 2 grandchildren.  Bro. Greg and Nancy want to be involved in the McGregor community and share God's love any way they can.  Outside of family and church activities, Bro. Greg enjoys watching Baylor sports, playing pickleball & cornhole, and going fishing.

Jesus pressed hard decisions on would-be disciples all the time, testing the depth of their conviction or the shallowness of their adhesion. When the rich young man was told to "go, sell all you have and follow me," his adherence quickly dried up. Jesus didn't say, "There are lots of ways, choose one." He claimed, "I am the way, the truth and the life." The apostle Paul found nothing so distasteful as those who were "lukewarm" in their faithfulness to a God who had sent His Son Jesus to die for them and redeem them from sin and death.

Saying "yes" to Christ's gift of life opens us up to the unlimited choices of God's love. Practicing the presence of God in our lives opens our witness to a world that needs a Savior.
